Jack Frost

{The youngest of the Guardians, and so far Jack's been pretty gung-ho about Pitch being a 'bad guy'. Pitch is still of the opinion that nothing goes together as well as cold and dark. But it's getting harder to avoid Jack when the young frost spirit gets upset over Pitch actually having non-antagonistic acquaintances with people that Jack knows or counts as "his" friends. Lots of tension here, but a strange level of understanding too? }

General Kozmotis Pitchiner

❧ Guardians of Childhood ( Golden Age Era )|( fearguard )

{Pitch and Koz may be alternate doppelgangers of one another, but despite sharing a face, a voice, and a past, they get along about as well as two angry badgers in a sack. Pitch is still in denial that Kozmotis is him circa Golden Age, and Kozmotis refuses to believe that the future-him would fall so far to the darkness. But, Koz still has all of his memories ( and most of his sanity ) so Pitch is left at a disadvantage. The locket containing Kozmotis' daughter's picture, and the starlight sword forged from metal that cuts through shadows also tends to shoot down the fantasy of mutual denial pretty effectively.}

Tooth Fairy

{Toothiana is a formidable opponent, and has made no secret of the fact she despises Pitch. With as much history as they have in their own world, it's no surprise that Toothiana's only spoken to Pitch twice, and the second time consists of running Pitch through with a borrowed starlight sword. Most see her as the friendly, cheerful, birdlike Guardian of Memory, but to Pitch Black, she's more dangerous than (almost) anyone else in Haven.}

Mio Akamura

{Upon first meeting her, Pitch scared the poor girl so badly he reduced her to tears. But, over time, Mio and Pitch grew close thanks to her respect and gratitude toward the fear that kept her alive through her ordeal in her home world. Pitch has blatantly projected a lot of long-buried personal issues on Mio ( mostly to do with the daughter that may or may have existed ) but in spite of the way Pitch has treated her, Mio believes in the Boogeyman. And that means a great deal to Pitch Black. She is, possibly, one of the only people in Haven that might be something close to a friend for Pitch. And while he doesn't want to admit it, Pitch has grown very fond of this little goddess-in-training.}

Dr. Malkus Iverwelling

{Malkus is another special case, mostly because the plague doctor offered honest ( if grudging ) gratitude toward Pitch the first ever time they met. Malkus is both grateful, and respectful toward the power of fear, but more importantly the odd doctor treats Pitch more like a person. He talks to Pitch, and suffers the little petty tricks of fright that Pitch tends to inflict without more than a bit of indignant flailing. Pitch rewarded Malkus by creating the doctor a can opener made of solid Black Sand, which has proven invaluable in more ways than just for opening tin cans. Likewise, Pitch is not likely to come out and admit it, but Malkus has managed to gain the Nightmare King's favor, so Pitch does actually care whether Malkus lives or dies. And is willing to "take steps" in order to keep Malkus alive and kicking for as long as possible.}

Diva

{Diva is beautiful, elegant, dangerous, and crazy to boot. She and Pitch have had a great deal of fun whenever they're in proximity to each other, and because Diva doesn't seem to feel fear very much at all, she is all the more interesting to Pitch. She likes to dance, delights in the fearful chaos Pitch tends to spark everywhere he goes, and is so well-mannered that Pitch flirts outrageously with her every chance he gets. With a little luck, and a little more charm, Pitch hopes to win the pale vampire princess over enough that she would be willing to work with him - she gets the blood of her victims, while he gets their terror in the face of death by exsanguination. It's a very creepy sort of flirting, honestly. }

Kon El | Superboy

{Kon and Pitch wouldn't exactly be called friends, but they aren't exactly enemies, either. Frenemies? It's a cordial antipathy built on snark, slapstick, and mutual rounds of insults. But, the young superhero is one of those special souls that puts up with Pitch's verbal abuse, and still deigns to talk to Pitch afterward. Pitch is also of the opinion that Kon's particular fears are like the most bizarre of acquired tastes, and a puzzle to boot. Pitch's excuse for talking to Kon so often is that he's trying to work out the puzzle...but it's closer to the truth to just say that Kon talks to Pitch and just flat out puts up with the Boogeyman.}

Monkey D. Luffy

{For some completely baffling reason, Luffy has a notion in his head of being "friends" with the Nightmare King. The kid doesn't feel fear, has the superhuman ability to stretch his whole body like a rubber band, and Pitch has decided that Luffy must have suffered brain damage in his early years. It's the only explanation for why Luffy persists in being friendly with Pitch, when Pitch is pure prickly snark in return. Still, Luffy puts up with Pitch, and talks to him, so Pitch can't quite bring himself to avoid Luffy altogether. Beggars can't be choosers when it comes to belief, right? Or so Pitch likes to tell himself, anyway. Good thing Luffy seems immune to the Nightmare King's influence, because Pitch is starting to get used to Luffy being around a lot.}

Nyx Assassin

{As far as Pitch can tell, Nyx is some sort of insect spirit? Being from a world that is totally foreign to Pitch, Nyx's fears don't really read like a regular mortal's. The two of them end up speculating about the nature of Haven's magic, and having conversations about their theories most of the time. But, Nyx is interesting and smart ( even if bug-logic is occasionally mystifying ) so Pitch doesn't mind comparing notes and solving mysteries together.}

Sharon Rainsworth

{Sharon is like a sphinx. Seriously, this girl doesn't seem to feel much fear at all, and has been able to keep perfectly calm in the face of Pitch's usual snide comments. In fact, she has said she's interested in the Boogeyman, though it seems to be mostly on an intellectual level? Pitch still isn't sure what to make of Sharon's continued interest, but he can never turn down attention. Even if it's from an odd girl that doesn't fear much of anything, and certainly doesn't fear the Boogeyman.}

Wade Wilson | Deadpool

{Deadpool and Pitch would probably look like cordial enemies, but it's a relationship built on vivid fantasies about how to kill each other creatively. Deadpool is full of a cartoon wonderland of fear, and Pitch is like a kid at an amusement park. He's enjoying the ride. No doubt Deadpool will catch up with Pitch some night soon, and they'll both be putting the whole "immortality" idea to the test. But, hey, at least it'll be fun! }

Crona

{Crona is a favorite victim of Pitch's, mostly because Crona's fears are so varied and intense. In fact, the poor kid seems to be afraid of almost anything, and just by dropping a few choice names in conversation, Pitch can provoke a reaction.}
